From My Valentine's Day Present

My wife Kathy has an 1886 prayer book that belonged to her mother's father, Thomas Gorman. It contains this prayer attributed to St. Teresa of Avila in the 16th century:

Let nothing trouble you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things pass away.
God only is immutable.
Patience overcomes all difficulties.
Those who possess God want nothing.
God alone suffices.
