My wife Kathy has an 1886 prayer book that belonged to her mother's father, Thomas Gorman. It contains this prayer attributed to St. Teresa of Avila in the 16th century:Let nothing trouble you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things pass away.
God only is immutable.
Patience overcomes all difficulties.
Those who possess God want nothing.
God alone suffices.
