Michele, Nobel

The voice of sober Nixonian realism on Libya is Rep. Michele Bachmann, who said in an interview tonight with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren that the U.S. shouldn't have intervened because we're overextended internationally and don't know enough about the anti-Qaddafi rebels or the war's likely outcome.

And so a stopped clock is right twice a day.

If Palin and Huckabee stay out, she'll be formidable. All that tea party anger in all those primaries vs. those (I can hear the rhetoric now) milquetoast elite candidates? The mind boggles. Romney's already in her sights; that's obviously one reason she wants to make 2012 all about getting the White House and Senate behind a health reform repeal.

I'd say the chances of an Obama vs. Bachmann matchup are at least one in three.
