Doing so may require recalibrating assumptions, though, to allow for the possibility that God patiently works through people and time, enjoys a good debate and prefers inviting conversation over issuing absolutes.

Good article. I think it's important to be able to have "adult" conversations about the Bible without having our faith questioned, or dissolving into trite or rote sound bites, or bitter diatribes. Somehow, I think God enjoys intelligent investigation about Himself and His Word.
